I will shout it from the rooftops: a blog for your business website is a must. It’s a low maintenance way to build credibility and nurture customer relationships. Whether you write them yourself or hire someone (wink, wink, I know a girl- schedule a consultation here!), the benefits are undeniable. Still not convinced? Let’s talk about four benefits of having a blog. But trust me, there are a lot more than just four benefits.
Brand Promotion for FREE!
Forget about Google ads or social media ads. Those expenses can add up fast. Blogging is a free medium for you to promote, market, and hype people up for anything your heart desires. There’s no limit to what you can write about, and it’s an excellent way for people to connect with what your business is all about. That’s a huge win in our book, and it should be in yours too.
You can reuse content for social media and your blog.
I highly encourage people to write blog posts that reflect what they’re posting on social media. For one, it takes the pressure off of what the hell to write about. Secondly, it’s keeping your education and knowledge consistent across your pages. This is a solid way to build trust. A blog is where you explain things more in depth and show more of your personality, like you are conversing with someone! Plus, everyone takes in information differently, so you have nothing to lose by putting information in more than one place.
Use it to show your passion.
A blog is a good indicator for someone to know that you’re passionate about your industry. When I see a blog on someone’s website, I know they mean business because they choose to share their love and knowledge publicly. We love a non-gatekeeping business owner! Reading through what business owners want to share is always so fun. A blog means starting conversations and getting people excited about who you are.
Boosted Website Traffic
As much as it annoys us, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) still matters. A way that the success of SEO is measured is by how long someone stays on your website pages. If you put out quality content, people will want to come see what you’re all about. The web crawlers will have more pages to search for keywords, leading Google to boost your website. Blogs are the easiest ways to get keywords onto your website without being a cluttered, overcrowded mess.
Don’t let the thought of nurturing a blog overwhelm you. It only takes posting 1-3 times a week to build up the numbers and results. It’s not complicated. If writing isn’t your thing, that’s where I come in. I offer 3 blogging packages alongside my Savvy Morris Marketing copywriting skills. I would love to bring your voice to life!
